f the Future J 1 , s Q, ai ii Q ,.-, fix? W fi . , cs, Sc1ence 'T ' ' Sputnik has sparked a nationwide interest in science. Suddenly there is a widespread concern about the quality and quanity of science being taught in our country's schools. Are our young people being ottered enough science courses, and are enough students taking advantage of what is offered? Here at Waukesha, however, this is no new and sudden thing. For many years the tield of science has attracted a large percentage of the student body. Biology, chemistry and physics tascinate many students especially when com- bined with any or all ot the various mathematics courses which are available. The progress made during this International Geophysical Year has even been discussed in the social studies classes. This is a history-making era in which we are presently living. As some of our fellow classmates graduate and enter the field of science we hope that they may be the people behind the scientific progress made within this century.
