season caught up with everyone THE PEACE AND BEAUTY of that flrst Chrxstmas was presented 1n tableau as vxell as song at the annual A Cap pella Yule Concert THE PAST AND THE PRESENT get together Last year s Wlnter Wonderland queen Arlene Bennett crowned Nancy Abrahamson who rexgned at thlS years ba K December Llttle d1d the students reallze as they attended basketball games that W H S would tle wlth South Mxlwaukee for f1rst place ln the Suburban Conference The season opened by a w1n over Greendale Senlor glrls buslly brushed up thelr homemakmg knowledge 1n preparat1on for the Betty Crocker Homemaker s test as Jr Students prepared thelr parents for teacher s comments at the 11th Grade Parent Nlght After these parents saw the1r offsprmgs report cards they were hap py for a chance to talk to the teachers by the annual A Capella concert and the many Chr1stmas trees throughout the bulldlngs The sp1r1t of Chr1stmas hung h1gh as the Natlvlty Scene was respectfully presented amld the stralns of the Hallelujah Chorus The Xmas sales tralnlng program gave many students the oppor tunlty to earn much needed money Saymg good bye to teachers unt1l 1956 students left school the 16th wlth ldeas galore The YTeen members busxly decorated the YMCA for the Wxnter Won derland formal led by Nancy Abrahamson 0 ' I A . . . The hustle and bustle of the Christmas November While teachers were busily attending the Teachers, Convention presided by our Miss Kline, students enjoyed a short vacation Back to school again students took up their activities Only this year there was no 8th hour and they participated eagerly even though they were not compelled to Amid these activities many worked hard pre paring their Voice of Democracy speeches Mr Smith presented On Borrowed Time which if commented on in Variety would have been des cribed as superb Tales of a yummy meal and a day of family reunions were spread through the halls as preparations for Thanks giving were discussed by all Dismissal on the 23rd at eleven am was greatly appreciated as students and teachers had many plans to fulfill In preparation for ice and cold cars were fed alcohol and wool garments unpacked and de mothed ll THEY SPOKE FOR DEMOCRACY Evert R0bBltS Pat Markham and Mary Schulty stand behind winner Barbara Schultz 8 ONE OF MANY busy campaigners Dorothy Schlovich mounted a poster for her candidate 18. January Getting down to work after a I'0lllCk1Ilg vaca tion students again picked up books Between outhnes and discussions they planned two major SOC1al gatherings Student Council planned 1tS annual dance which this year sponsored Nicole Pommier Waukeshas first exchange student From France N1cole soon followed the steps of all other seniors Compulsory to her also was American Problems FBLA again Joined with A serious note was added when semester report cards and final averages were taken home Less 1ce skating and more study time was a resolution many students had to accept Enllghtenment was afforded as the nationally known Waukesha Sym phony Orchestra performed for a special Student program and later for the adults February 'lom Glazer the famed balladier put on a special assembly fo1 the seniors and held their interest to the last strains of his guitar Well remembered is his rendition of Goober Peas Another production to cast' Tryouts and crossed Mld year exams, A BIT OF THE PAST was poured forth in song by balladier Tom Glaser THE BOYS QUARTET contributes its bit to the senior talent show which was handled by the assembly com mission 10 STAR PHOTOGRAPHER Larry McCormick posed Model Sandra Falter for Easter fashion issue . - 0 ' U . ....
