Arrives ith Its Rush of Last Events DREAMY-EYED STUDENTS lounge around on the campus counting the days until summer vacation and signing Megs with the recollection of some amusing event in the school year. Ah!-what a lovely day this would he to skip school! DEAR ARLENE, IT SURE WAS FUN -hld, bla, Ken Herman and Nancy Stewart look slightly amused as Nancy Allgood writes a witty ditty in Arlene Hoffmann? Meg, thus making her contribu- tion to the annual custom of consuming several gallons of ink in signing Megs. L- 'Na , l 4. 0, Q ., MAY lcontinuedl Spring fever is in the air, and a round of picnics and banquets begins for our clubs. May lO, the G. A. A. has their traditional dessert-dinner, and Mask and Wig holds its awards banquet on the llth. Others follow in quick succession, W banquet, Meg and Star picnics, until every day seems to have its picnic or banquet. Red letter day for the Seniors is May 28- Honors Day. Scholarships, American Legion awards, and other honors are received with much pride by top ranking seniors. And for special meaning this year there is the Hope Gardner Memorial Scholarship. JUNE June 4-Megaphones finally arrive and are dis- tributed to an eager student body. From then on it's sign my Meg everywhere we turn. We find it hard to concentrate, but exams are upon us in this last week of classes and by June ll even this ordeal is over. Erasers become handy items as we clear our books of marks to qualify for our dollar refuncls. Seniors receive caps and gowns in prepara- tion for graduation week. June l3,the auditorium is filled to S. R.O. for Baccalaureate services. June l4, seniors Cwith an eye on the weatherl march into l-loreb Spring Park for graduation- the last official act of their school careers. And some who had waited eagerly for this event find a strange lump in their throats. With report cards on June 16, school is out. The year with its unforgettable experiences shared with many friends is over. Summer vacation begins.
