A new schedule came to our school and the signs of the change were: the long line of impatient kids waiting for the 12:58 bell to ring and let them enter the building . . . the dash home at noon for that 53 minute lunch hour . . . the silent halls with their noon hour classes in session . . . the welcome school's out at 3:00 . . . the compulsory make-up day on Thursday . . . eleven bright yellow school buses all in a row waiting for their occupants to pile in . . . assembly every other week . . . a brand new Sth hour activity pro- gram. Surely these were enough to bewilder even the most knowing senior! But gradually, order replaced confusion and we settled down to thirty-six weeks of work and fun. It was hard to get used to the new schedule, but we all managed to survive, al- though the 8th hour activity period left us all a little baffled. Our school week evolved around the new period something like this: On MONDAY and Wednesday, we had a chance to show our abilities in the Senior high activities. We enjoyed the experiences and the variety of new clubs that were initiated. junior High students claimed TUESDAY and Thursday as club days. The student body met every other WEDNESDAY in the newly-painted auditorium for assemblies. We were enter- tained by speakers, singers, movies and other educational programs. When THURSDAY rolled around, it brought make-up night with it. Teachers allowed no excuses - they claimed it was for our own good to complete our assignments. After pep assemblies on FRIDAY afternoon, we went home at 3:00 in order to be back in time for the numerous sports events. Then, on weekends, we went to Rec Dances, plays, shows, the Attic, and other social events that played a big part in our SCHOOL LIFE. And so, we thought you'd like to remember this, the year of the new schedule, as seen by the Meg Staff. l5J QA ! Ere word n 5: 3' ' 1 E--efffiexfr-R'-1-M T f fill? .5 . .,-. 1
