olden M emories F. F. A. Everything from testing milk to harmonizing, this is the Future Farmers of America. Our local chapter is one of the best and most active groups in the state. The boys take great pride in this fact and are constantly striving to live up to the rep- utation they have made for themselves. All Ag students are required to belong to the F. F. A. The boys don't consider this an impo- sition, however, and they really put their hearts into their work. The 156 members under the di- rection of Mr. Born and Mr. Kelly sponsor and take pflft in the annual F. F. A.-Faculty basketball game and a 25 voice choir. In order to keep up with the happenings in the agricultural world, the boys attend several conven- tions every year. The officers: jim Wendt, presi- dent: jerry Kurth, vice-president: Bob Abrahamson, secretary, and Lloyd Salentine, treasurer, attended the National F. F. A. convention in Kansas City, and representatives were also sent to the Chicago Livestock Exposition and Indianapolis Dairy Ex- position, where Al Basse won top honors for his prize heifer, Cinnamon . Week, etc. All of these events well could be included in the memories of any F. H. A. girl. For the Future Homemakers of America believe in taking active measures in improving themselves and yet help- ing others. The annual Christmas party is an event that no member would want to miss. Each year we donate gifts to the Milwaukee County Children's Home, where we help to make it a very Merry Christmas for the children who are present. Also during the Christmas season, the F. H. A. sends articles to needy boys and girls in other countries. Through this medium many pen pals' are acquired, and also a certain warm feeling from knowing that we have done something for someone else. A new face among the faculty this year, Miss Buckler, advised the officers, Doris Becker, presi- dent, Ella Petris, vice-president, Arlene Klier, sec- retary, and jean Kirkpatrick, treasurer, in planning the club activities. .s.
