MASK AND WIG The pounding and hammering on the sets plus the odors of fresh paint, sets the scene backstage. Dress rehearsals, last minute changes, then the mo- ment everyones been waiting for - opening night. Now many people realize the work that goes into a play. Mask and Wig members are the kids who have worked night after night for weeks be- fore opening night to bring about perfection. Under the direction of Mr. Metzner, we have started our wardrobe department. After soliciting possible costumes from people in town, many girls spent their spare time sewing for our first costume play, Victoria Regina. With the co-operation of all the crews, make-up Cunder the guiding hand of Miss Lemanj, lighting, costume, props, and stage crew, we have gained experience in all phases of dramatics. i MAKE-UP CREW- STANDING: Fuller, Swan, Korn, STAGE CREW - TOP ROW: Spaulding, Smith, Christian- Baunlilafd- Mlffhell, 016500, Zietlow, Christoph, Davigsl son, Davies, Gronewald, Schwartz. It was fun to be ap- plauded loud and long at Carroll College Convo- cation and even those long hours of practice and more practice were fun. Well never forget the thrill of the annual Christ- mas concert. One hundred and twelve voices clear- ly singing Adeste Fidelesn as the procession moved toward the stage, the beautiful nativity tableaux and the reverent tones of the soloists made a mem- orable program. We may never sing for another symphony but there was the night when we sang with the Wau- kesha Symphony. Then came our formal spring concert and our last appearance at Baccalaureate. Miss Monlux turned over the direction to our president, Joe Arreazola, and we sang The Lord Bless You and Keep You. With this benediction, our musical year closed. The Madrigal's year has been an active one too. These twenty students represent the choir in rnusi- cal programs for clubs, assemblies and community groups. From their new arrangement of jingle Bells to their serious study on the history of music, the Madrigal ensemble has added much to the listening pleasure of many audiences, 91
