Sh! - Scratching Pens, Literary Minds At Work PEN 'N' INK IOARD - Lowry, Erd- mann, Mrs. Metznet, Michalski, McKinnon. PEN 'N' INK To be concluded next week - and in the meantime we'll fix up the plot, go over the gram- mar, and polish up the dialog. After all we're writing for a very critical audience who are would- be writers themselves, the members of the Pen 'n' Ink club, to be exact. And with the pointers that are offered in our weekly sessions, we learn to analyze our writing faults and to attain fluency in written expression. Anyone interested in creative writing and who has a little ability are welcome to join Pen 'n' Ink. Our chief responsibility is the publishing of our annual magazine. Stories submitted by English teachers and Pen 'n' Ink members are judged by Lois Erdmann, editor-in-chief and Tom Michalski, literary editor. Together with our adviser Mrs. Metzner they prepare our contribution to the literary life of our school. Il6l 11: :ri PEN 'N' INK - TOP ROW: Michalski, Wagner, Yatzeck, Keyes. MEGAPHONE Coke bottles, the litter of copy, and cries of Where's the dummy? depicts the natural state of affairs at Meg work sessions. There is always the taking of pictures CML Pettigrew's depart- menrj, writing copy and catchy headlines, proof- reading, identifying pictures, and aft work. Trying an offset book this year introduced us to the mys- teries of paste ups and black paper. Those haggard souls you saw coming out of the Meg office might have been the Meg board members up to Dorothy Giese, our editor. Jill Anderson, business manager, worked with Miss Conklin to map a super cam- paign for selling Megs. By the end of March, after endless hours of rewriting, headaches, and jokes, we watched with pride as the progress chart we had been ignoring was finally checked off by Miss Kline, our adviser.
