This is just one of the many projects sponsored by our government of the students, by the students and for the students . Thanks to the fifty legis- lators who make up the council, we enjoy such an- nual affairs as Twirp season, Dad's night during basketball and Homecoming. joining with other Suburban schools for promoting sportsmanship and better relationships in our league, Council members attended conferences and conventions. In the spring, hearings on the Student Activity budget brought officers Art Beringer, Dick jones, Mike Curran and Gen Davies along with Miss Nohelty adviser into long but worth while sessions. There in the hall stood the gaily dec- orated Christmas tree, one of the things Honor Society members did besides homework. Doing work well is the first step up the stairway to Honor Society membership. Next is earning thirty honor points for activities. We climb the steps of leader- ship, character, and service to reach the top. We're given our pins by Miss Fardy and the officers, Dick Yatzeck, Barbara McKinnon, Carla Schaefer, and Pat Collins. Then there's a weekly bulletin board to decorate, and finally the Spring Banquet, the climax to a year of work and fun. QUILL AND SCROLL Copy written for the Cardinal Star, original ma- terial for Pen 'n' Ink, outstanding photographs or sparkling copy for the Meg, may be rewarded by membership in Quill and Scroll, the honor society for journalists.
