With these rules ringing in our ears, we travel through the three years of required English. lt is the goal of the English Depart- ment to turn out well educated citizens who will be prepared to express correctly their ideas in tomorrow's world. As freshmen we struggle through the year with basic English essentials. Speech correction and pronuncia- tion is our aim in our sophomore year. We may choose personal, commercial, or college preparatory English. A term paper is the first essential assignmentl The library is a second cousin to English. Unlimited sources of information and ma- terial are at our fingertips such as current in- formative magazines, encyclopedias, diction- aries, and shelves packed with neat rows of books.
