The chemistry lab was a popular rendezvous for certain Hfriends after school. The main ex- perimental theme was plastics with Paul Hardy starring in the field while Poul Junemann, Jim Michael and Paul Trushinske portrayed the sup- porting roles of disappointed failuresl' at last, after many trying experiences, attaining success. Mr. Wheeler's explanation of soil-less plant cul- ture in biology class attracted sophomore Betty Coe who became an omoture horticulturist growing 40-inch tomato plants without soil!
