A greeting from Superintendent Burke: To the Class of 1964 I would like to ex- tend my sincere congratulations. You will find the activities of your class well documented in this Annual. Yours has been an outstanding class. With the publication of the 1964 An- nual comes a close of another era at WTHS. This might be called the Mes- low Era, for at the end of this year Mr. Meslow retires. He has given 31 years to WTHS, serving as faculty sponsor of the A nnual W during this period. This long period of service is greatly appreciated by the alumni, student body, faculty, administration, and board of education. On behalf of all of them, Ed, I would like to say thanks for a job well done and our best wishes to you in your retirement. Among the major duties of the admin- istrative assistant are recruiting and interviewing teaching applicants, visit- ing classrooms, conferring with teachers and department heads about instruc- tion, and approving textbooks and supplementary instructional materials. Other duties include completing ques- tionnaires and reports for the superin- tendent, arranging the official school calendar, and maintaining data on school personnel. He is a' member of the governing boards of National Honor Society and P.T.A. and is also school representative in several community organizations.
