The WTI IS sunnner school will hegin its twelfth session on .lune ll. 1056. Local stu- dents use this eight-week period to make up credits lor graduation. to meet col- lege entrance requirements. to accelerate their high school courses. and to spend part of their summer vaca- tion in prolitahle study. The l'ractical Nurse Program of WTHS, which is start- ing its second year. is set up to train young men and women to he sale and competent practical nurses and to alles iate the shortage of nurses. The program offers four months ol' theory and classnork and eight months of clinical experience in alliliated hospitals. The students cover a comprehensive area ol' study and gain experience in specialized departments of a hospital as well as duty on the general medical and surgical floors. SUMMER SCHOOL For the past thirty-three years the Board of lfducation has offered the facilities ol' W.'t'.H.S. for evening classes in adult education. This year 2278 men and women of all ages were attracted hy the 63 courses designed to help them make hetter use of their leisure time. to improve themselves in skills that apply at home or on the job. and to earn credits towards a diploma. A certificate of attainment is given to each student who does satisfactory work and has an Stiff attendance record. There are two semesters. one starting in September and one in january. Classes meet for 8 to I6 weeks from T to 9 ol-lock. one or two nights per week. Nlonday through Friday.
