High Sci: vol Koard epre en tA Citi emi WNW THE High School Board of Edu- cation is an elective body chosen by the voters of the Township. They represent the citizens of the com- munity and serve Without remuner- ation. The Board determines high school policies, levies the Township school tax, and designates the allo- cation of funds to the various areas. The 1951-52 board of ten members has been reduced to eight for the ensuing year. The group retains an attorney for legal counsel. The Board president is chosen by the group from among its own mem- bership. At the April, 1952 elec- tion, Mr. Hultman and Mr. Drys- dale retired from the board and Russell F. l 1 l Superintendent Clarence S Prichard AS the administrative head of the High School, Superintendent C. E. Prichard coordi- nates the efforts of the school board, faculty, and student body. Mr. Prichard has served two years in his present position. His more than thirty years of service to W.T.- H.S. in the capacity of classroom teacher, department head, and later as assistant princi- pal, and principal have qualified him for his present position of educational leadership in the community. Through Superintendent Prichard's ofiice pass many important matters of business concerning school policy and procedures. Both student and faculty Welfare are vitally affected by decisions made in the superintendenfs office. Mr. Prichardgs interest in school problems and his enthusiasm for the success of the entire program has helped Waukegan High School retain its high position in state and national educational circles. 13
