Text from Pages 1 - 92 of the 1965 volume:

To a trusted and respected Principal. Our words are inadequate to express our gratitude for the help and inspiration you have given to us. So, in honor and esteem, we affectionately dedicate this 1965 yearbook to you. GLORIA BARBIERI Gloria She looks like an angel, acts like one too, but you never can tell what an angel will do. PEGGY KUEHL Peg She smiles on the world, it smiles back on her. STEVE BARKLEY Steve I can't think of two things at once, so I just think of her. Ever so sweet and twice as neat. GARY STONE Gary To be witty, handsome, and an athlete is indeed a combination hard to beat. LINDA GILES Linda BOBBI SMITH Bobbi I'll find a way or make one! RONNIE BOONE Ron Baseball and girls are my snorts. SHARON HARVEY Sharon She has a nice habit of being nice. DARLENE ANDREINI Darlene If I am too small to do great things, I can do great things in a small way. TOM INMAN Tom Why take life so seriously we never get out alive! LORRIE SPEAR Lorrie What's the use of living if vou can't enjoy yourself? JOHN PRIM John pninra There's a warmth of friendship in his way. RUTH HALL Ruth Not too serious, not too gay, nice in a charming sort of way. RONNIE RHODES Ron ANITA SHAFFER Anita Smiling and witty, warm and pretty, her ever present joy, is a delight to one boy. BARBARA SPENCER Barb A woman who blushes is better than one who turns pale. I'm a woman hater, but the Bible says to love thy enemies. SHIRLEY SWALLOW Shirley In every deed of mischief, she gives a helping hand. SANDY FRETTE: Sandy She's gentle, she's shy, but there's mischief in her eye. NICK GRUBER Nick PEGGY REES Peg Bouncy and effervescent, you can tell when she's present. Just like a teakettle— he may be up to his neck in hot water, but he's still singing. pmora I never let my studies interfere with my education. BRAD BURT Brad CHERYL BAILEY Cheryl What my mother doesn't know won't hurt her. GEORGE STIFEL George It's been a good past time, but I’m glad it's over. STEVE MOSER Steve A boastful boy of FFA, he'll become a farmer some day. TERRI McCUEN Terri Little, but so is a stick of dynamite! CAROLYN ORT Carolyn LARRY LITTLE Larry Greater men than I might have lived, but I doubt it. FRED CROCI Fred I'm not arguing with vou teacher; I'm telling vou! with that merry and carefree air, you can always tell when she's there. LINDA DILLER Linda She is as changeable as a dollar bill. I PAT MORAN Pat They say the age of miracles has passed, but I graduated. ROSE HARRIS Rose When asked her favorite fruit to relate, she softly murmured, Oh, a date! pttiurs DAWN MORTENSON Dawn A friendly person, a charming lass, a worthy addition to our class. GREG BURT Greg Good humor is goodness and wisdom combined. ■ CAROL COPELAND Carol Lead me not into temptation, just show me where it is. ■■■■■■■■ pmnr ropljesg Here it is. The year 1978, and we are on cur way to visit the class of 1965- They were such a close-knit group that they have established their own town, and run it themselves. I hear that it has quite a reputation!!!! Ah, here we are approaching the town of Jeopardy Junction. The first person who comes into view is the well-loved town marshall.....Greg Burt. He is in the process of chasing Dean Herr and Tom Inman. Seems as if these boys never grew up, and they are in trouble for shooting the respected Marshall' car with their handy little bean shooters. Better run fast boys!!!!! The town is well equipped with all the necessities for living, and a few that are just thrown in for fun. The first shop that is passed as you enter the town is the Barber Shop. Jackie Barber that is. Just going into the shop are Lorrie Speer and Sandy Frette. I see by the sign in the window that they are having a sale on wigs. Watch out!!! Boy, you almost got it that time. Nick Gruber is on his way to work, and when he leaves all the mothers make their kids come in. I've heard that his job is bending signs into shape............with his car!!!!! Here comes the most Reverned Brad Burt. Seems as if he has his hands full trying to convert the younger generation of the town. The local tavern is the next building coming into view. I hear that Reverned Burt has been talking to the owner Linda Giles and her barmaids Peg Kuehl, Gloria Barbieri, and Darlene Andreini. He is trying to get them to chip in some of their time, as well as their profits to the church. There are many big businesses in the town of Jeopardy Junction. On our left is located the motorcycle shop. It seems that the owners Bobbi Smith, and Peg Rees learned quite a bit about motorcycles in their high school days!!!!! The reducing salon seems to be doing a booming business these days. Cheryl Baily and Linda Biery are the two biggest customers, they say that time brings about many changes, but this is rediculous. Oh Well....Onward. It's almost lunch-time, so we decided to take a break and eat lunch at Fred's Pizza House . Best pizza in town-just ask Anita Shaffer or Dawn Mortensen who together weigh a total of 630 bouncing pounds. After dinner we visit the local orphanage. The owners, Shirley Swallow and Terry McCuen always wanted to have large families—-----but 250 kids???!!!??? For physical fitness the town has a health center run by Barb Spencer. Her most interesting member is Linda Diller who is training to become a professional lady wrestler. She hopes to one day make the Olimpics. GOOD LUCK!!!!! Carolyn and her husband own and operate the local grocery store. He owns it and she is the check-out girl!!!!! Mttnr r o p t sy One famous member of this small town is Larry Little whose famous paintings have replaced the old out-dated ones such as the Mona Lisa and Whistlers Mother . Always knew that there had to be someone in that class that would turn out to be great. We stopped for an afternoon snack at the Soda Shop. The owner, Steve Moser specializes in egg nog!!!! The flower shop is run by Rose Harris who, as her name implies raises the famous flower Harris . She invented it by crossbreading flowers. Her customers, Sharon Harvey and Ruth Hall are looking at the old ancient flowers of the past such as the carnation and the orchid. If you ever have teeth trouble while you are passing through the town, just stop at the orthodontist shop owned by Carol Copeland. I guess she learned quite a bit about braces while she was in high-school. Before leaving this little town, we stop to look at the school created by the class of 1965....What a mess!!!! The superintendent, Gary Stone, has set up a completely new concept in the educational system. The chemistry teacher, Pat Moran just went crashing through the window as a result of a small explosion----Kids can be Kids!!!! John Prim has taken over the English Department and he is patiently working with his oldest student....George Stifel. Guess George never quite made it. As we bid farewell to the town, we stop for gas at the station. Steve Barkley runs it, and rumor has it that he also ran off quite a big of gas during his high-school days!!!!! Just as we pull out of the station, so does Ron Boone and Ron Rhodes. They are the only two people in the world that can lay a patch with their horses. That’s all their allowed to drive since Marshall Burt took away their licenses. Yes, Jeopardy Junction is quite the town and it is constantly growing. Who knows, maybe someday it will be the sight of the state capitol. The Seniors never were a class to say die !!!!! Jackie Barber New Senior—mid semester 'Success is a journey not a destination nttnr Steve looser wills his egg route to Mickey Merical. You better gather your chicks, Mick. Linda Siller wills Larry Phillips to Linda Henderson. She needs a tall boyfriend, too. Rose Harris wills her romance mysteries to Connie Anderson. Let's hope that Connie can solve them. Darlene Andreini wills her art ability to Bill Haynes and Nancy Peterson, providing they don't draw on the library magazines. Linda Biery wills her boyfriend in Dallas Center to Roberta Wright. On second thought, she wants to keep him. Sharon Harvey wills her quiet composure to 3d iMcKinney. Keep calm, Ed. Peggy Rees wills her late hours to Shirley Bennett providing she can put them to better use than Peg. Dawn Mortinson wills her determination to finish school to Jim Morris. Make good use of it, Jim! Gary Stone wills his basketball ability along with his conceit to Tom Tovera, as if he didn't already have it. Shirley Swallow wills her ability to move fast on the basketball floor to Chris Lewis, providing Chris will stay with the team. barb Spencer wills her innocent blush to Linda Ogden, providing she can use it at the right time. Lorrie Speer wills her knowledge of the Italian language to Linda Lewellin so that she can talk to Fred better. Carolyn Ort wills her sassy saying, I'm not going to do it, Mrs. Meyer , to Lena Ogden. Use it sparingly, Lena. John Prim wills his brains to Eill Kelly and Jake Gruber, but not until John gets through with them. They probably wouldn't -use them anyway. Ronnie Rhodes wills his fabulous Chemistry talents to Jim Wiltgen, as long as Jim takes it as seriously as Ron in trying to blow up the school. Anita Shaffer wills her sun glasses and new bikini to Toni Rideway. Don't worry, you can always get another one, Anita. Larry Little wills his ability to argue any point to Marty Smith. Here's hoping you will do as good a job. Ron Boone wills his trips to the Mickey Owens baseball school to Joe Render, providing he doesn't get homesick, What, or who, did you get homesick for, Ron? Carol Copeland wills her talent of getting on Mr. Judkin's nerves to Pete Rahlson. We don't want any of the teachers to have it too easy! mor Gloria Barbieri wills her bouffant hair do’s to Kim Springer. Keep the comb away, Kim. Fred Croci wills the car he never got running to Mike Baker. Mike, if you don’t get it finished, you can always ride your horse. Tom Inman wills his super stock Ford to John Rosenberger, providing he doesn’t dent the other fender like Tom did. Nick Gruber wills his driving skill to Tom Leonard, providing he doesn’t go over 30 miles an hour and run into stop signs. They are awfully hard to straighten. Bobbi Smith wills her cheerleading sweater to Peg Smith because Bobbi would like to see Peggy get it. Pat Moran wills his ability to fall out of windows to Brian Larson. He won’t be as easy to throw out and he won’t have such a long ways to fall. Sandy Frette wills her talent to try out for basketball in her senior year to Brenda Delazzer, as long as she doesn’t try the coaches patience as Sandy did. Brad Burt wills his burnt matches to Mike Aldrich. He will be able to get away with almost as much as Brad. Well, almost. Greg Burt wills his blue Ford to Ike Dowell. On second thought. Brad will probably want it if Greg is through with it. Dean Herr wills his curly hair and brown eyes to Cissy Johnson. She will really have the boys with that combination!! Linda Giles wills her ability to do good in everything to Kenny Trammel. With her ability, he can’t go wrong. Ruth Hall wills her roller skating ability to Jane Haberman. Lots of luck in winning the medals that Ruth did! Terri McCuen wills her slim figure to Bev Burger, although Bev has almost done it by herself. Cheryl Bailey wills her ability to lie to her mother to Sherry Copeland, as long as her mother doesn’t catch up with her. Steve Barkley wills his ability to be led around and astray to Dennis Petty. Don’t let it go too far, Dennis. Peggy Kuehl wills her scholarship to Carol Allen. Hope you can make it. We’re sure that Peg can. Jackie Barber wills her quiet whisper to Karen Tollari so that Karen can make good use of it when she is cheerleading. George Stifel wills his athletic ability to throw fruit in the lunch room to Linda Case. Mr. Meyer frowns on it, so be more careful. And to all the classes that follow the Senior Class of 1965, we leave the fine examples that we have set, and to Mr. Meyer, we leave all our memories. oup « iliPH tljp or ill tljp (lmaii Jails rain if nn onisfyt ? ff Mrs. Hopewell.................Bobbi Smith Frudence Hopewell.............Jackie Barber Dirk Sneath...................Gary Stone Harold Stanfast...............Steve Barkley Simon Darkway..................Brad Burt Truman Pendennis...............Greg Burt Fifi..........................Linda Giles Carlotta Cortez...............Gloria Barbeiri Fred Wheelwright...............John Prim Kitty........................
