Waukee Community School Waukee, Iowa dedication With the realization that we are still very young In heart and experience; with the knowledge that with their counsel there Is yet peace and love, and a deeper, calmer faith for us to seek: we gratefully dedicate this, the 1959 Teepee, to all those who have helped us follow the winding path of knowledge. SUPERINTENDENT A Tribute to our Superintendent and Faculty To these to whom we owe so much To these who, in individual ways, follow the profession of the Master Teacher To these who pave of themselves far beyond their day's work To these we extend our ratituae. Senior Class PRINCIPAL Principal's Message Conrratulations is first in order to our nraduatlng class of 1959. HONOR STUDENTS Hath Ann Van Deventer Salutatorian CITIZENSHIP Glen Grove Billy Weiton Donnie Potter Josette Duprez Valedictorian I Dare You Award Mary Ann Jackson Gale Hodson Si H nING Karen Skeers Ronnie Potter Senior Prophecy The Senior Class of I960 is having a reunion. Every member of the class is present except Dale and Ralph. Dale has made a fortune with his trained fleas in the Orient and can't leave them. No one else can take care of them but Ralph, his flea feeder, who is sick. Since Dale can't attend, he decided to invite his classmates who are bringing a guest, from the class of 1959, to his mansion. Dale is watching on his supersonic television as the class is picking up their guests. Judy David stopped by for Dr. Linda at the hospital after delivering a healthy bouncing set of quad- runlet baby boy ----- dogs. Paul, Larry D., and Larry F. is picking up Ruth in their flying car at her reducing studio. Jilia finds Lillian on a street corner selling-you guessed it ------ peanuts. Denny finds Ronnie driving a taxi cab in New York. He picks up more girl passengers than any other cab driver in the city. Dale flips the dial and picks up Karen who is now roller skating champ of the world. She and Linda are roller skating to the Orient on the new Super-Duper Highway that goes around the world. Judy C. is picking up Mary Ann at the campus of Iowa State Teachers' College where she is still struggling to get her diploma signed. Kathy picks up Karla at her studio where she is practihg the marimba but not with her hands -- with her feet! When Marilyn B. stops by for Marlin T. she finds that she has finally •'ut her good figure to use. She is at the Burr-Lee-3 Theater in New York where she is now one of the Bouncing Bubbles of Broadway. Dale flins his dial and tunes in Spain where Dave is arriving to pick up Gene. He is now a bull fighter ------ bull snake. He flips the dial back to the United States and finds Bob and Dick W. and Jimmy zooming along the highway on the way to the Orient in Jimmy's new car. He got it by picking up pop bottles along the road and selling them. When John arrives to pick up Diana she is practicing the hula hoop. Boy! she sure has a ziggy-zaggy figure allright. She zigs where she is suppose to zag as far as the hula hoop is concerned. Jerry M. discovers Gale is a famous opera singer. He is the soprano lead in the opera, Broken Axil. Bob S. finds Josette at the County Fair where she has just won a championship for hog calling. Larry W. picks up Sandy at a night club. She is a judo expert and a head bouncer at the club. Judy is busily practicing the organ when Barbara arrives. She is looking for the lost chord --- Aha! I think she has found it. As Charles T. and Don A. stop to pick up Charles, they find that he is a window washer. He has fallen for a brunette with a poodle cut. Only to find out it was a real poodle. He has broken his back and can't come to the reunion. Patty is busy with her nine red-headed kids when Jerry W. and Gary come to pick her up. Now all the classmates have gathered in the Orient for their reunion and banouet - the perfect place - Shangri-La! SENIOR DIRECTORY LINDA BURGER: Basketball 1,2,3,U-5 F.H.A. 1,2,3,)+; F.H.A.
