LEONARD MOSS Moss Man of deeds, not words F.F.A. 4; Mixed Chorus 4; Baseball 4; Basketball 4; Letters won: Baseball 1; Basketball 1. 1956 SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY We cannot foretell the career of each senior, but after knowing them and working with them in sports, music and in the classroom, we know they will all obtain happiness. It is now 1975 and as we tour Paris, we view the Class of 1956. We started our trip in New York where we boarded an atomic passenger plane at La Guardia Field. Our pilot was none other tnan Captain John Manford Cramer. He had just retired from the U. S. Air Force where he set a new record for breaking the speed of light. At we land in Paris five minutes later we are welcorned by General Jerry Jackson, who was the first to fly to the moon and claim it for France. Hailing a cab, we discover Richard Ori at the wheel of the latest French sports car. He seems to be picking up more female passengers than any other cab driver in Paris. Richard drives us expertly through the crowded streets to the famed Eiffel Tower. Here we watch the slim and muscular Duane Felt climb to the top of the tower, doing his road work for his 100 lb. championship wre tly match. To explain hi3 weight situation, we must add that his petite French wife cannot cook. Since Paris is famous for its' rite clubs, we stop at the French Casino where we find Charlene Wanders in the Can-Can line. I understand she was quite a hit on Broadway before she accepted this fantastic offer in the Gay Psree' Follies. We are served by the head waiter Pierre John Swallow. All tnose dance lessons were not in vain for he is the most graceful head waiter in all Europe. It is uncerstood that he coaches Charlene in her c n-can steps after hours. The next day we explore the famous shops of Paris where we meet the famous French Designer Don Boone, and his model Linoa Cross. The latest fashion designed by the great Mr. Boone is dressed made from wood. His model, Linda, has only one complaint to make about the dresses. The knotholes keep falling out, causing embarrassing situations. Now we are in the Art Museum and meet Larry Leonard and rave over his exquisite modern drawings. He got his start when by accident someone sent in a picture he drew of his n.story teacher. It was mistaken for a modernistic drawing for the Pyramids of Egypt. At the French race way we w tch the daring dteve Day win the final race, in George Robisson's latest built c r. Jteve gained m ich experience in high school drag racing on his airplane landing strip. George's car is the only car in nistory to operate on air and was made from his old International tractor. We stop on a narrow street to watch a French Foreign Legion Unit drill and hear the familiar vcice of Captain Bob Reynolds bark out commands. He has just returned frcm North Africa where he became sea sick from ridin r. camels. During our visit to the Royal Palace, we find our Homecoming Queen, Sandra Martin, in a familiar role, sitting on the Queen's Throne. First, we direct that all our just debts and funeral expenses (Graduation Speaker) be fully paid and satisfied, as soon as conveniently may be, after graduation May 1?, 1956. Second, we appoint Mr. and Mrs. William Morris the executors of this will and we are not responsible for any embarrassment or personal response created by said will. Third, we hereby direct the presentation of the following: Bruno Andreini wills his musical solo to Donnie Burger so that he can have it memorized next year. Good Luck, Donnie I Donald Boone wills nothing to nobody because he is taking everything with him. Dick Copeland bequeaths his ability to charm women to Melvin Spencer providing Melvin uses it to his best advantage. John Cramer wills his ability to play first base to Karen Hunter providing she can dig as many low throws out of the dirt as John did - besides, we need another (ho ho) good looking first baseman next year. Linda Cross and Sandi Martin will their ability to slap goop on the hamburgers in hot lunch line to Harold and Richard, providing they get them as messy as Sandi and Linda did. Steven Day wills his Credit Card at the Salvation Army to Bill Jones as long as Bill gets as much use out of it as Steve did. Duane Felt wills twenty-five pounds to George Luke providing he doesn't use it for lard. Clark Harmon wills his proness to have flat tires to Lonnie Bench as long as he has them when he isn't with Karen. Jerry Jackson leaves his beloved car, Maude, to anybody who will haul it away. Larry Leonard leaves his thirty-word typing pin to Lucy Lami providing that she works up to her thirty-five word pin by next year. Susie Lowe wills her cheer-leading outfit to Delores Dullard, providing she takes the hem up two inches and gets her 120 word shorthand pin by next Spring. Charlene Manders leaves her ability to sleep in the assembly to Ivan Larsen as long as Meyers doesn't catch him, and if Meyers ever does catch him, you will know why we don't want him to. Mark Larsen wills his ability to keep out of trouble to Mary Robinson. Greg Muench bequests his over-abundance of energy to Chuck Nesselroad and said energy i.s to be administered according to demand so far as aforementioned energy is not used in the process of developing his capacity to exercise his brain. She invites us to go through the Palace of Versailles where we watch Greg Muench carry on his duties at the President's desk in the French Research Office. One of his latest discoveries is using atoms to remove lipstick from mens handkerchiefs - saving many husbands from spending hours in the dog house, with their poodles. Now we board the latest Jet train and head for the French Riviera. We are told that Chief Engineer lyle Whisner is at the throttle. Since he excelled at whistling at girls while in high school, they thought he should put his whistling to use - at railroad crossings! At the resort, we meet Madame Donna Wilson, the richest widow in France. She became wealthy after winning the sixty-four million dollar question on the subject of, Which came first, the chicken or the egg. Next we decide to go for a swim and see Clark Harmon train for the worlds champion swimming meet. In a race with Florence Chawick from Los Angeles to Honolulu, he was ahead until he spied an island with mermaids. Now it is evening and we are in the Riviera Ballroom overlooking the blue Mediterranean. We dance to the music of France's most popular dance band starring the Waukee High Trumpet Flash, Bruno Andreini. He has switched to the piccolo since the high notes on the trumpet kept breaking the bubbles during the bubble dancer's performance. Next we discover the band's baritone is Dick Copeland. His latest hit song which has sold more than one million copies is I MET YOU IN THE GLUE FACTORY AND NOW I AM STUCK ON YOU . On our way back to Paris, we stop at the world's most famous wine distellery and we are introduced to the owner, Roger Trent. During his childhood he liked the feeling of mud oozing between his toes, so he became a grape stomper and has now worked his way to the top of the wine industry. His official taster is Mark Larson. Roger's wine must do something for him for he is now eight feet tall and the star on France's Olympic Basketball team. As we board the Atomic Passenger plane for our trip home, the airline hostess, with a- familiar face, tells us to fasten our safety belts. When she serves us our lunch, we recognize her as Susan Lowe. Her French boy friend, Mr. Nash Cadillac, was at the airport in Paris to see her off. It is said that her father disapproves of her choice. But the less you pay—the longer it takes—did you notice the ad doesn’t say for how many months? Better be sitting down wheta the salesman tells you. Let’s Examine the Real Facts! Fact No. 1—All Ford dealers purchase their cars from the Ford Motor Company at the same price regardless of dealer size’. Fact. No. 2—All Ford dealers purchase parts and accessories at the same price. All dealers are on equal footing when it comes to over allowing on a used car or on giving a cash discount on a no-trade deal. No Ford dealer gets an extra discount for volume deliveries. Any dealer is forced to stop discounting while he still has enough profit left to: 1. Pay his overhead. 2. Make a reasonable return on his investment. 3. Service and take care of your car during its warranty period. If he doesn’t keefc enough profit to take care of these items— where do you think he will cut down first? “But”, you say, “the factory will take care of my car. WILL THEY? No automobile manufacturer has one single mechanic to repair your car. Every adjustment or repair must be' done by the dealer. If you doubt this statement, a letter to the’ factory will bring a reply like this—“Dear Mr. Jones, we suggest that you take your car to your selling dealer who will we are sure, be happy to correct any difficulty you might have.” So—What Does This Add Up To? The integrity of your dealer is your only guarantee of satisfaction. Does it make sense that he should feel under obligation if you take all the profit in and over allowance on your old car or a discount? But—some ads would have you believe he will gladly give all his profits away, service your car, keep you in gas for a year and maybe toss in a mink coat. What do you think? A new car needs adjustments during the break-in period. Suppose it won’t start some morning? What do you need most then? Those gifts you got free with the car? Or a factory trained mechanic sent by a deale r who gives you the service to which you are entitled? Outside of a new house—a new car is the largest investment you make. Let us prove that we can meet any deal offered, including the ridiculous financing plans if you insist. No one has a private or original plan, every dealer has them all. If you feel that a particular PRIVATE PLAN suits your purpose, come in and we’ll gladly sign you up on the same terms advertised.
