Science, with its numerous complex prob- lems, bases its findings on common sense. By using common sense, scientists have set down laws and principles by which we explore our universe. Working out solutions gives the scientist a sense of accomplishment. Because of the advance of Russia in space travel, there is a growing demand for scien- tists and mathematicians. Opportunities in this field are unlimited. Our government, factories, industries, and engineers need men and women trained for scientific work. Although most of the scientific courses are elective in the senior high, students are urged to take them. SCIENCE Advisors in these departments are Mrs. Mr. Mr. Mr, Mr. Mr. Walker Saunders Ferringer Warner Allen Robeson

The advisors for the English department are as follows: Mr. Hewitt Mr. Walsh Mr. Charles Mr. McDermott Miss Ring English is definitely considered among the more important courses, for it is a major re- quirement every year. English is mainly the study of grammar and literature. Our study of literature includes everything from poetry to Shakespeare 's plays of Julius Caesar, Hamlet, and MacBeth. We couldn 't begin to name the many uses of English grammar. Without it we could have little conversation and certainly no writing. There would be no history and little future without our language.
