Our commercial department is one of the largest and best equipped in the school. The three adjoining rooms furnish the students with typewriters, dictaphones, the Gestetner, ditto machine, and adding machine which they would ordinarily find in an office. Science, with its numerous complex prob- lems, bases its findings on common sense. By using common sense, scientists have set down laws and principles by which we explore our universe. Working out solutions gives the scientist a sense of accomplishment. Because of the advance of Russia in space travel, there is a growing demand for scien- tists and mathematicians. Opportunities in this field are unlimited. Our government, factories, industries, and engineers need men and women trained for scientific work. Although most of the scientific courses are elective in the senior high, students are urged to take them.
