P. T. A. Mr. Robert Rosenberg, Pres. The Wattsburg Area High School P.T.A. has as its president a very interesting personality, Mr. Robert Rosen berg. In our interview he discussed with us the objects and aims of P.T.A. organization, and the programs he hoped would be presented during his year as president. The objects are: fly To promote the welfare of children and youth at home, school, church, and community. 121 To raise the standards of home living. C39 To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth. My To bring into closer relationship the home and the school, that teachers and parents may co-operate in training of the child. Q51 To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for every child the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education. At the first meeting in October an engaging and attractive program concerning Music Instruction in our Wattsburg Area Schools, elementary and secondary, was introduced. lnteresting numbers were presented by Mr. Ralph Perkins and Miss Jean Wildermuth, our music instructors. Among the presentations was a demonstration class of pupils, who are members of the chorus, showing how music and choral work is taught in our schools. The November meeting was a panel discussion on Guidance Counselling. Mr. John Brannon, guidance coun- sellor, acted as moderator. The panel consisted of four patents of high school students and four students--a dis- cussion followed. The program for the January meeting will stress the procedures followed in the procurement of teachers for the Wattsburg Area schools. Mr. Ralph Turley, supervising principal and Mr. Milton Bonney, high school princi- pal will be the speakers. This will be followed by a question and answer period. The March meeting will have as its program the story of our new area school and the proposed building program for our area. Those participating will be Mr. Robert Harwood, Mr. Milton Bonney, Mr. Ralph Turley, Mr. Robert Rosenberg and Mr. Herbert Miller. A question and answer period will follow. The last meeting of the year will be held in May. The program will be a panel discussion of the duties and responsibilities of the school directors, secretary, supervising principal, principal and teachers. The following people have been invited to participate on the panel: Mr. Don Raun, area school board president, Mrs. Beatrice Kent, school board secretary, Mr. Ralph Turley, supervising principal and Mr. Milton Bonney, high schoolprin- cipal. A discussion period will follow. A Founders Day Banquet for all P.T.A. members and friends of the entire area is being planned for February 8
