GIRLS' BASKETBALL ' Gas rationing really hit the girls' team. Lack of transport- ation kept many players from practice and the team out of the games of other years. But Margaret Parker-Captain, Ida Bayle, Alice Har- wood, Orrissa Whitford, Rachel Mulvin, Mary Jane Raun, Carol Bueg, Alice Kent, Patricia Noxon, Lena Bayle, Arlene Lee, Bernice Kent, and Frances Chaffee stuck with the team making a successful sea- son of it. An assembly program starring Louise Tower, tumbler and Ida Bayle and Alice Kent, clowns was one of the highlights of the teams' year. The girls do appreciate the capable management of their team by Marion Thornton and coaching under Miss Jones. And if you can wait until Lena Bayle, Bernice Kent,.and Patricia Noxon grow up, come around and see us win our games next year. BOYS' BASKETBALL The Varsity and Junior Varsity boys gave the student body lots of thrills throughout this season. They played the year's most successful game against'Oorry and lost the year's most interesting game to waterford. After the team demonstated some of their plays in assembly we watched the games more closely. We entered the Waterford Tournament but were not successful. We finished our season by beating the Starlight Atheletic club of Corry by a small margin. Alton Johnson-Captain, Bernard Brumagin, William Miles, Sam Bayle, Paul Chaffee, Edward May, Clay Combs, Don Edwards, Don Peterson, Stanley Blystone, Robert Markert, Lyle Gifford, Don Rouse, George Sammons, John Ramsdell, Fred Sammons, Gerald Herd- man, Robert Rohde, and Merle Teed are the boys who won the games: Raymond Blasco, successfully managed the team. Winning or losing, the boys played good basketball under the rship of our new coach, John Reno, and this year? losses se to be next year's victories. leade promi
