FOREWORD We have set the sails of our souls for a voyage on the sea of knowledge and service to mankind, and have brought back a cargo of self satisfaction and a wealth of understanding of our fellowman. There is no room now for ill feelings or misgivings oat) Ame to look back. ‘The destination, the long sought invisible goal has been spied and we are ready to toss over the anchor . . . buoyed by ambition and a keen curiosity ! But when the crew has scattered and the ambition begins to flicker and fail, may this volume serve as the “‘Ships’ Log”. . . a source of mental refreshment and delecta- tion.
