lan Dyer served as the presiding officer at all Student Board meetings this year. Members of the board include all student body officers, the class presidents, and the class representatives. Faculty advisers for the group are Mr. Crook and Mr. Geiser. Business meetings were generally held every other Wednesday in the new Student Activity room. Some of the more important work done by the board this year was the sanctioning of the call for two new clubs, the Dance Band Club and the Engineers Club. A request to have Pom-Pom girls was granted by the members. Five girls were chosen and they were a colorful addition to our football games and rallies. Money for new athletic equipment was also approved. All concessions at basketball and football games were granted by the board. A great deal of discussion was also held regarding a sink- ing fund for the bleachers in the football stadium. K Dann of Girls Mrs. Worthington as Dean of Girls is the one who is always looked to for advice. Her office is usually full of girls Waiting to ask her opinion. She does much more than this, however. She aranges special events and schedules classes. She is also adviser to the Dance Committee and has helped make all our dances successful. Sincere thanks and good wishes from us all. Dam nf Hays It is a familiar sight to see Mr. McCombs sitting at his desk talking to one or a group of boys. This is only one of his many tasks as Dean of Boys, how- ever. He is also one of the advisers of the Merit Board and helps handle Student Body funds, This year he is teaching an English class as well. We are proud to salute him in a difficult job Well done. ,Merit I6'vard Watsonville High's student court, the Merit Board, was composed this year of the Student Body President, Ian Dyer: the Student Body Vice President, Pat Devittp LeRoy Sloan, Paulette Chilcote, and Ioyce Vilhauerp dean at boys, Mr. McCombs5 and dean of girls, Mrs. Worthington. The Merit Board's duty is to listen to problems and explain the school rules and regulations to students who come before the board.
