Foreword This year fhe Manzanifa sfaff was confronfed wifh many fhings never fhoughf of in previous years. While gas, food, and shoe rafioning was bofh- ering fhe public, fhe shorfage of film worried us. Despife fhis and many lesser difficulfies, we feel fhaf fhis Manzanifa expresses fhe work fhaf fhe sfudenfs are doing in fhis school fo win fhe war. Lasf year we found ourselves suddenly and fragically af war. We wanfed fo help, buf we didn'f know whaf fo do. We've found ouf now whaf we can do, and we're doing if. Lasf summer we sfarfed. Almosf every sfudenf in high school worked in fhe fields. Mosf of fhem had never done anyfhing like if before. They never had fo. Buf faced wifh fhe sfern necessify for moving crops, nof one held back. This pafriofism didn'f end when school sfarfed. There were sfill many ways in which we could help, and we did nof overlook one.
