WAR SERVICE CGUNCIL Organized lasf year for fhe purpose of unifing 'fhe s'I'udenfs efforfs for 'rhe nafional defense program fhe War Service Council has been exfremely acfive fhis year. This council is composed of all fhe sfudenf body officers, fhe presidenf and secrefary of each class, fhe dean of girls, 'l'he dean of boys, 'fhe sfudenf body audifor, fhe sfamp and bond sale 'faculfy adviser, fhe scrap drive faculfy adviser, and fhe Junior Red Cross faculfy adviser. Represenfafives were also chosen from 'fhe Girls' Afhlefic Associafion, fhe Service Club, 'fhe Junior Red Cross, fhe Block W , fhe Fufure Farmers of America, fhe Scholarship Sociefy, and fhe Janifor Force. Officers of fhe council were Cal Babcock, chairman: Al Bode, vice-chair- mang and Norma Jean Dye, secrefary-freasurer. Some of fhe proiecfs fhey sponsored were fhe fomafo, cabbage, and onion crops, 'fhe very successful scrap drive, 'rhe sfamp and bonds sales which enabled us fo fly fhe freasury flag, wifh fhe help of Miss Sfaud a One hundred per cenf Red Cross drive, and composing a scrap book showing how fhe school helps in 'fhe war. This book won an honorable men- fion in Sacramenfo where if compefed in fhe Schools al' War program. The council also sponsored a musical show puf on by fhe sfudenfs. The pro- ceeds of fhis show wenf 'fo purchase war bonds for fhe sfudenf body.
