AROUND THE CLOCK WITH THE CLASSES A frantic endeavor to keep up the pace set by Father Time and his little hours fthe Seniorsj, the Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen swung into a year of accomplishing activities. Early demonstrating their desire to become a vital part of school life the split-seconds, being the Frosh, showed signs of exerting a promi- nent influence on becoming full fledged seconds, or Sophomores. Witli their president, Marvin Marinovich, commonly called Slip, Dennis Farmer Crabb, Bobby Ditlevsen, Eddie Dykes, Bill Grul and many other cavorting on the gridiron, diamond, and basketball floors Cnot to mention the corridorsj and Val Lemon, Rose Iwami, Sue Mida, and Mary Handshy performing for the girls, the Freshmen made good use of their time. Being fast pushed by the tightly wound up Frosh, the Sophomores not to be outdone, donated their president, Clem Molina, and Frank Cro- setti, Bob Hudson, Joe Heatwole, in addition to others to the fields of sports. Jean Dorey, Ethel Mary Underwood, Helen Woodall, and Ann Prynjak carried on for the girls. Also shining scholastically as well as athletically the split-seconds put If in the Scholarship Society and the seconds gave up 13. Chalk up one for the Freshmen! The Juniors, growing up so they could fit the Seniors' shoes in '35, added their support in the persons of Frank Malsbury, George Nielsen, Cliff Speelman, Art McCandless, and Don Cornett, to the Wildcat teams, and Margaret Hudson, Lois Martin, Ethel Litchfield, Frances Fischer, Ruth Bradley, and others to the feminine Wfildcat teams-the hockey field, basketball courts, and baseball diamond. To contribute I3 to the scholarship society, many of whom were prominent in athletics, showed that the class of '35 was able to vary and diversify its interest. They were led by Frank Malsbury as President. Individually, Olive Mae Harker, sophomore, shone as the girls' tennis champion. Her beautiful style and serve caused even Father Time to stop and admire. She defeated Kay Maleta, post graduate, for the cup. Then too, believe it or not, the annual Junior-Senior Prom was largely Hnanced by the lower classmen, who attended the noon dances faithfully in large groups and contributed their nickels to the Prom fund. The last year's activities of the under-graduate classes gives some idea of the fast tempo set for next year. 4255 'I ll! lk ml 1 :HSZPNZDB ,gb I l
