FRESI-IMEN OUNGEST, and largest, the freshman class of W.U.H.S. this year was active in all departments. lt had representatives in Spanish, Latin, and French clubs and in the Scholarship Society. Several freshman boys absorbed the ath- letic spirit of the school and played in football, basketball, baseball, and track. The girls. not to be outdone, figured in the girls' All-Star Teams, Those who were musical played in the band and orchestra, or made up a large part of the Glee Club. This class is one of the few to choose its motto and colors in the freshman year. The committee for this purpose spent many third periods in exercising their argumentive powers before they arrived at an agreement. This early train- ing in school aHairs shows the initiative and spirit of the class, and forecasts a brilliant career through high school. The members of the committee are Mary Tipton, chairman: Ella Marie Brodin, Shirley Stripp, Cyril Kirby, Warren Cottrell, Mike Musura. I ' 9 - 3 - I Page Twenty-eight
