WATTERS, WE THANK YOU O ONE of our best friends, Dr. Henry Watters, the Student Body of Watsonville Union High School here extends its public thanks for his constant service and hearty support. Everyone knows how the Doctor, as Commander of the American Legion, worked long and successfully by personal talks and public speeches to overcome opposition to the school's buying the large Bockius tract for our athletic held: but not everyone knows that long before that. and that every day since, Doctor Watters's services are given freely and generously to anyone who becomes ill or injured on the school grounds. Many an athlete can testify to his prompt response to his needs. Whenever he is asked to appear and pep up a rally or give some of his time for the Student Body, the Doctor always responds. The school appreciates these loyal deeds. We appreciate the interest that prompts them and the generosity and good-will that carries them out. We stand ready to help the doctor-and the American Legion which backed him-and hope that he will understand that though we know that our opportunities for repaying him in any way are almost negligible, that the willing, joyous spirit we feel when responding to some such small re- quest as taking part in patriotic programs is generated by our gratefulness for his services.
