As we come to the end of a very successfut journey , let us take a final look at some of the wonderful moments we s hared. Approximately forty eighth graders — some alert, some unaware, some vfise — and oh yes, some lazy, arrived in the fall of 195S, prepared to begin the wonderful days of high school. Our guides were Miss Marian L. Jackson, James 0. Malone, and Billy R. Hodge. Our interests were divided among: Miss Jackson English I and HPE (Girls) Mr. Hill — Algebra I and Math I Mr. Ware Music and Social Studies Mr, Walker -Science Mrs. Smith Art Mrs. White Social Studies Mr, Malone--General Business HPE (Boys) We learned recently that we were to be the first graduates to com plete twelve years of study at Watson, so we were officially Freshmen this year. Preparing us were: Mrs. Thorapson-English II World Geography Mr. Hill Algebra II Plane Geometry Mr. Walker HPE Mr. Ware Band Choir Mr. Malone General Business Our class officers were: Oswald Rucker, President; Harry Helton, Vice-President; Robert Young, Secretary; Charles Laws, Treasurer, In grade ten, we encountered some of our most difficult problems. But under the leadership of Mrs. M, S. White, we easily solved them. Assisting her were: Mrs. Thompson -World History and English III Mr. Hill Algebra II Mr. Walker-- Biology Mr, Ware Band and Choir Miss Jackson — -HPE (Girls) Mr. Hodge HPE (Boys) Mr. Malone —Typing I and HPE Our class officers were: Nanette Robinson, President; Lee Wayne Holloway, Vice-President; Caroljrn Scott, Recording Secretary; Joyce Caul, Financial Secretary; Rensey Murphy, Treasurer. Although we’ve reached the Junior Class, only a few students have really buckled down and started doing their work. Steadily coaching were Mr. G. D. Hill, Jr., our homeroom teacher. Assisting were: Miss Jackson French I II, English IV Mrs. White — American History Mr. Malone Bookkeeping, Typing I II, HPE Mr. Ware Band and Choir Mr, Hill-Plane and Solid Geometry and Trigonometry Our class officers were: Randall McKnight, President; James Hunter, Vice-President; Helen Mack, Secretary; Marian Persinger, Assistant Sec- retary; Sherman Holloway, Treasurer. We could hardly believe that time had passed so quickly, but in the fall of ’63, with much hard work and many unforgettable moments be- hind us, we thus reached the beginning of the close of another chapter of the most wonderful time in our life, Mr. G. D, Hill again played the role of ’’Father” this year guiding and advising us on important matters. Our teachers were:
