The Artists And The Articulate Mr. Smith presented an in- teresting range of activities to his Art classes. The stu- dents had the opportunity to cultivate their creativity by mastering basic drawing, metal smithing, water col- ors and charcoal sketching. The highlight of the year was a field trip that was taken to view and study the works of some famous artists. Speech was a required six- week unit for every sopho- more student. The primary purpose of the course was the need for each person to be able to communicate both orally and visually with his peers . Juniors and seniors could refine their speaking by tak- ing Advanced Speech. They studied the theatre, acting I n and play production. One of their projects involved the writing and production of their own play. Dan Csterhous assists Kelly Norton at the throw wheel .
