On the first play from scrimmage Tiger quarterback Scotty Sheffield fum- bled and Tornado defender Bob Bergin fell on it at the Tiger 25. Runs by Giroux, Brown, and Martin led to the first touchdown of the night for the Tornadoes. In the second quarter, a field goal by Dennis and a touchdown by Martin increased the score to 16-0. With 2:00 left before intermission, Victor Hudges separated the ball from Tiger quarterback Jeff Eure and David Hinton fell on the fumble. From there, Laurel moved upfield with the running of Charlie Giroux. The drive bogged down at Tiger eight and Dennis booted a field goal to make the score 19-0 at halftime. In the second half, Timmy Cranford passed to Tri- plett for a 37-yard touchdown. On the following kickoff, Harrington broke up the sideline for 94 yards and the Tigers' only score of the game.
