The Afro-American Club The Afro-American Club is a newly organized club at R.H. Watkins. This club was organized to give students an opportunity to identify, recognize, and promote cultural contributions of Afro-Ameri- can. This club's main purpose was to establish a bet- ter relationship among students. The club provided for black talent in promoting school activities and promoting Black History Month. The clubls project for this year was having a car wash, and the recogni- tion of Black History Month. Club officers are John Harkless, Presidentg Beverly Coleman, Vice Presi- dentg Janine Brown, Secretary, and Cynthia Mosley, Reporter. The club sponsor was Mrs. Yvonne Terrell. ROTC The ROTC program at R.H. Watkins High School provides many opportunities for stu- dents to learn and practice leadership proce- dures and traits. Student cadets are given op- portunity to belong to many aspects of the OTC program through class activities, field experiences, and battalion gatherings. There are activities for both boys and girls in cadet staff and officer training, drill team corn- petition, and color guard.
