Emphasis is placed on the competitive aspect of club mem- bership and the ability of students to plan to- gether organize and carryout worthy Activities and project within the school and the community. The Whirl is the school newspaper which is printed eight times a year. The members of the paper staff attended MSPA convention at Ole Miss, bringing back 5 certificates of merit. Also, a member of the staff was elected the new secretary of the Mississippi Scholastic Press Association.
