Tornadoes complete the season with a 22-9 record. The Laurel Tornado varsity basketball team completed one of its most successful seasons in recent years. The 'Naders, even though placed on temporary probation based on charges that later proved to be false, maintained a fighting spirit and finished the season with 22 wins and 9 losses. is v If The team finished the season with many honors, including winning the Morton Classic Tournament and the Quitman Invitational Tournament. Indi- vidual winners include Anthony Nicholson, who placed on the All-Morton Tournament Team, the All-District Five Team, the All-Central Big-8 Team, and was the most valuable player for the Naders. Greg Walters placed on the All-Central Zone Team and was the WLAU player of the week. Anthony Howard was the best defensive player on the All-Morton Tournament Team and was the best rebounder for the Tornadoes.
