Band wins all superiors at state contest The Tornado Band won all superiors at the State Band Festival in Clinton. This was the third straight year the band has accomplished this task. The superi- ors included those won by the concert band, march- ing band, and drum major. The Tornado Band rep- resented the State of Mississippi as Gov. Cliff Finch de- clared the R.H. Watkins High Band as Goodwill ambassadors to Mexico . While in Mexico the band performed at the Con- servatory of Music at the University of Mexico, pef- formed at a Mexico City high school, and went on sight- seeing tours that included watching a bull fight and a trip to the pyramids.
