Tomadoes complete a winning season. The Laurel basketball team, a team that was terribly underrated, climbed out of the Big Eight cellar and finished with a respectable, 13-12, overall record. The Nader Cagers werenit expected to do much but they were causing quite a lot of excitement in the race for the District Five title. They beat Meridian, but finally lost in a close one to South jones in the semi-finals of the tournament. Coach Rob- bie Carr's roundballers utilzed their quickness and outside shooting plus some outstanding hustle to capture their victories. Many of the starters were seniors who provided the needed leadership through- out the year. That plus the tremendous effort the team gave made the difference in the season.
