In the fall of 1947 we enrolled in kindergarten with members. Nineteen of these members are still with us now. They are- KAREN ANTHONY IEAN BANDURSKE SHIRLEY BENJAMIN BILL BEVERLY SANDRA BULLARD SHARON DANNEFFEL, DOUGLAS EPPLE DIANE FRANK FRED GRANT JUDY HAWKS BJORN I-IEYNING BOB KELLER, MARLENE MOODY JANET MORRISON HELEN MUNDT SHARON MUNDT JOHN ROGERS MARILYN SCHEID and RON WARMAN Our teacher was Mrs Dorothy Sh1erk In the frrst grade our teachers were Mrss Hattie Sayles and Mrs Laura Hawks We added two new members JACK ERSMAN and MINNIE SCHOONOVER. HELEN MUNDT left our class that year and went to Keeler ARNOLD MALIN CAROL SPILLERS and SHIRLEY WATSON jorned our class rn the second grade Mrs Laura Hawks and Mrss Myldred Cronrn were our teachers Brll Beverly left to go to Texas Mrss Mabel Andrews and Mrs Ruth Zrelke were our thrrd grade teachers New addrtrons that year were PETE KOBE JOYCE LAMP MARTHA MINOR, and BOB RICHARDSON Agarn someone left our class SHIRLEY WATSON moved to Coloma In fourth grade our teachers were Mrs Laura Helweh and Mrs Shrrley Colman HELEN MUNDT came back thrs year and DIANE FRANK left for Arrzona Mrs Colman taught her class to frngerparnt and the other sectron made a scrapbook of the Unrted States Our first class trrp was taken to Post Cereals rn Battle Creek NANCY BATES RICHARD RAY BILL STEWART and KATHY WATKINS came in the frfth grade Our teachers were Mrs Rachel Rogers and Mr Kerth Lrghtner Our class trrp thrs year was taken to Studebaker Company and the arrport rn South Bend In srxth grade Mrs Ruth Collms and Mrs Effre Frtzpatrrck were our teachers STEVE NEWNUM, BOB RADCLIFF and JUDY SNYDER were added to our class Also BILL BEVERLY came back from Texas and DIANE FRANK returned from out West The brrd sanctuary and Be Mo Potato Chrp Company rn Kalamazoo were vrsrted by our class that year The two addrtrons rn the seventh grade were SHIRLEY WATSON who returned from Coloma and ALLEN LOOMIS Thrs year we began payrng our class dues and we also had a drfferent teacher for each class We vrsrted the Museum of Scrence and lndustry rn Chicago Our advrsor was Mr Rogers In the erghth grade our advrsor was Mr Robert Dengler RON LoPRESTL jorned us that year W enjoyed the Museum of Scrence and Industry so well that we voted to take another class trrp there JENA GATES and LOUIS MESTRE jomed our class rn the ninth grade We were all thrrlled to be rn high school at last even though we were only Freshmen Our advrsor was Mrs Eleanor Wertenberger Our class trrp was taken to the Brookfreld Zoo rn Chrcago We had four new members rn our Sophomore year LYNNE CONRAD MEL HILER, MIKE LESTER, and BH.L SIMS Our advrsor was Mr Hubler We started a few money makmg projects for our prom and the class trrp In our ,Tumor year NELSON BAUMEISTER, DONALD BAILEY TOM SCHOONOVER, and JAMES SWISHER jorned us We were happy to recerve our class rrngs and work on the Jumor Senror prom The prom theme was Shangra la Our brggest money makmg project for the prom was our magazme sales As Seniors we garned JERRY BOOMER and SUSAN ENDERS Thrs year all our money makrng projects jects were for our senror class trrp to Washrngton We also worked hard on the annual Our projects rn eluded selling candy cookres and nuts and bake sales We leave Watervliet High School realrzing that we have made many mrstakes and we hope that we have profited by them Although we will be separated from each other rn the years to come we will always remember the good trmes we have enjoyed here at W I-L S We wrsh to thank all the members of the faculty and the administrauon for their help rn smoothmg over the rough places I . S that JEAN BANDURSKE is the new truant officer for Berrien County NELSON BAUMEISTER 15 still drxvrng the same Rambler he bought in 60 NANCY BATES has finally become an R N She works at the local cat and dog hospital SHIRLEY BENJAMIN developed her long hidden talents as a pianist and IS now second only to Van Cliburn BILL BEVERLY s most recent practical invention 15 crystal clear glue used to keep Contact lenses on .TERRY BOOMER has become a professional loafer after ten years of practice SANDRA BULLARD recently reached the height of her career She was chosen Mrs Perfect Home maker of the year LYNNE CONRAD is now a commercial professor at Yale University She hopes that 1t's a permanent positron
