QE IUH ELAQQ HIQTUHY The Freshmen Class of 1935 included fourteen girls and twenty-eight boys. Many of the members had been students of rural districts. Ai the first election of officers Joe Thomas was elected presi- dentg Barbara Wilson, vice-presidentg and Dorothy Mae Nelson, secretary-treasurer. With the ringing of school bells in the fall of '36 the freshmen became sophomores. A slight decrease was noted in the enrollment. The newly elected officers were Gilbert Walters, presidentg Dean Norris, secretaryg and Barbara Wilson, treasurer. In the fall of '37 when the class came to- gether, a large increase in the enrollment was noted. The annual election was held and Dorothy Mae Nelson became presidentg Winona Welch, vice- presidentg Joe Thomas, secretaryg and Claire Netz, treasurer, The Junior-Senior Banquet which was held in the high school gymnasium was entirely southern style and was most successful. In September of 1938 this class had reached the rank of seniors. The class elected Barbara Wilson, presidentg Ray Rosebaugh, vice-presidentg Jean Buell, secretaryg and Winona Welch, treas- urer. Miss Anderson and Miss Douglass served as the senior sponsors. Among their accomplishments as seniors we include the senior play, a successful and inter- esting perfomance, and their participation in ath- letics and music. The senior class is well represented in the various extracurricular activities of W. H. S. There are seven seniors in the Garrick Group, ten in the W Club, ten in the Taste and Baste Club, eight in the Pep Club, and sixteen in the Future Farmers Association. Page H
