A constitution was drawn up and four otlicers are elected each spring by popular vote. This year many of our programs have stressed personality. Blembers of the Guidance Department have talked on the individual's characteristics and the qualities essential to obtaining and keeping a job. Other interesting speakers have talked on subjects varying from travel to beauty culture. An activity which causes great interest among the members is the annual typing contest in which three prizes are awarded. Each year the club enjoys social as well as educational programs and ends its activities with an outing. Secmul linux' J. Piantenlosi, ll. Mann, XI. Nlellonald, F. Nlootafian, P. Oakley. V. The purpose of the club is to make each member proficient in public speaking, debating, and parliamentary procedure. The national high school debate topic for the current year was: Resolved, that every physically eligible youth shall receive one year of full-time military training before attaining the age of twenty-four. In addition to preparing speeches on this subject, members of the Society held weekly discussions and debates on various topics. Oratorical contests have been staged for the past nine years, by the Society, to determine choice of a student to represent the school in the Animal National American Legion Oratorical Contest.
