Stepanian, B. Pullie, E. Morgan, H. Uhani in Throughout the season, brilliant playing was displayed by our girls in field hockey. Over the past three years the varsity has set a marvelous record and this year our girls helped to keep up this standard. Captain Krikorian deserves a great deal of credit for keeping Watertown un- defeated. Her brilliant stick handling stood out continually. Another outstanding player was Margaret Abrahamian, who was the high scorer in practically every game. Her skill in playmaking has been a big factor in the team's victories. Also, special mention should be made of the determined play of Goalie Rose Agahigian. The real success of the varsity squad was due not only to certain individual ability, but rather to the high degree of teamwork which is characteristic of XV. H. S. sports. Fur1 ' ' cle!! S. should have an excellent team. Outstanding for the Red and Black were l'Buddy l.aForest, mighty mite, Buddy Rose, our sensational goalie, and Jack Beale, a speedy forward. The most interesting game of the season, against Tabor Academy, was played in freezing weather at Victory Field. Twice Tabor received free foul kicks but couldn't score against Rose. At the end of regulation time neither team had scored. A five minute overtime period was played hut neither team was able to get the crucial goal, and the game ended in a scoreless tie. Miss liigganc-'s varsity, composed almost wholly of Seniors, had a good record winning three games, losing only one, and tying one. The play of the guards was out- standing as is shown by the fact that Watertown scored 180 points while holding their opponents to 158 points. The jayvees, directed by Miss Tierney, played several games and the sopho- more team defeated the Newton Sophomores, 34f14. These undergraduates will form the nucleus of next year's team and should uphold the high standards of YY. ll. S. sports. Thfrzl Row: li. Robinson, .L Krikorian, P. Dolan, S. Greene, D.
