Many rallies were held in the auditorium during homeroom periods to try out the new cheers and to encourage support and loyalty to our football squad. The cheerleaders accompanied the team to all the games and did much to arouse the en- thusiasm of the crowd. ln addition to cheering at the usual football games, the cheerleaders were also invited to cheer at an exhibition game held for the soldiers at Fort Devens. So another inspiring year has passed but we shall always remember the splen- did job the cheerleaders have done in supporting our team and giving them the necessary fighting spirit. SIunfliny.' W Manager Philip Dupuis l it 'M P l'oacl1 Mr. Cyril Ellis occet: --.H Ilqffmaa nn. the loose The soccer team did not fare too well this season hut we are fortunate in having seven veterans returning next year and with this roster of experienced men, NY. ll. S. should have an excellent team. Outstanding for the Red and Black were l'Buddy l.aForest, mighty mite, Buddy Rose, our sensational goalie, and Jack Beale, a speedy forward. The most interesting game of the season, against Tabor Academy, was played in freezing weather at Victory Field. Twice Tabor received free foul kicks but couldn't score against Rose. At the end of regulation time neither team had scored. A five minute overtime period was played hut neither team was able to get the crucial goal, and the game ended in a scoreless tie.
