As we approach the close of the present school year, I sud- denly realize that another group has reached the point of young manhood and young womanhood—SENIORS! As I think of your future, I must consider it from both the angle of Principal and Father—To my son-and fellow members of his class I sincerely trust that we have given you a great part of what you must have if you are to succeed in the life that you are entering. I realize that we have not met your need to the fullest ex- tent—those of us who have tried to advise with you to challenge your inner self—to indoctrinate you with the principles of justice, fair play, good sportsmanship, and clean living, hope to glow with pride as we follow your progress in the near future. Your successes and failures will be the determining factors in the future America. May you always keep the principles of good citizenship foremost in your individual lives. I would insist that you let your sense of being well balanced in moral and Christian behavior overshadow that of worldly pressure. If we have created a desire within you to seek your proper position, then we have not led you in vain. Whatever the goal may be, in earth or in Heaven, the whole secret lies in proceeding to that goal. —VICTOR HUGO
