BELOW: Kathy Gallagher, Luann White. Kimpa Jones, Vicki Chandler, Leesa Cutler discuss their summer activities. RIGHT: Sophomores Vicky McDonald and Faye Harwood display a bewildered look as they roam the halls on Orientation Day. - - School Daze are Here Again What did I hear about West High before I arrived for Orientation on August 22? ... The administration was out to get you. Never ask direc- tions from a junior or senior unless you want to get lost. (Get lost by yourself.) I heard there were a lot of neat guys. (WHERE?) If a fire took place, a teacher wouldn ' t let you out of the room unless your assignment was turned in. All teachers carried .45 ' s and the principal carried a sawed-off shotgun. Everytime you walked down the hall a senior or junior would be beating up a little sophomore. There would be a lot of cute girls here (HA! HA!) If you wanted to go out with a person you had to be going steady with them. I heard juniors and seniors hung sophomores on the clothes hooks by their jocks in the boys ' locker room. So big that even teachers got lost. Bathrooms were of pure smoke and you choked when you went in them. Really a great school, except for the rich kids who are automatically made popular. Everyone hassles you. Boring, and no school spirit. A paradise. Everything goes on in the first floor girls ' bathroom and the teachers are afraid to go in there. ' Teachers are old and senile. Teachers walk around like they don ' t know what ' s going on. Teachers would bite your head off on just one mistake. It ' s a nice place to visit but I wouldn ' t want to live there.
