Math Club An extracurricular organization with a real educational backbone-that's our math club. Mathematics is a skill -a science-and not an easy one. These interested students found their work with the various phases of math most helpful and certainly informing. Afternoon Co-op MORNING CO-OP Row 'l: F. Mayer, P. Hanisch, J. Baker, J. Steele, J. Ehle, J. Courtney. Morning Co-op Work in the morning-school in the after- noon. lt wasn't easy, and mornings could never be spent in bed! But the rewards were invaluable - experience in the working world and a glimpse of what the future might have in store. Those students leaving the building at noon weren't playing hooky -they were the ambitious ones who spent their mornings at school and afternoons and eve- nings at work. Having a responsibility such as this is what trains students today for positions in business tomorrow. AFTERNOON co-OP Row 1: D. Dana, J. Roberts, K. Francis, J. Schwake, S. Miller, K. Walters, B. Grange, Senate II With the help and suggestions of the faculty and the entire student body, the second se- mester Student Senate accomplished a great deal for our school. ln addition to the old business of running in the halls and the col- lection of money for trees, the Senate took over in the sponsoring of the Bundle Drive, Variety Show, and in the practicing of a code of ethics. Because of the close cooperation between the representatives, the teachers, and the stu- dents, the Senate was able to put the finish- ing touches on another fine year at West. L. McGreevey, R. Lamson. Gaveliers II After the election of the presidents' president, other officers, and committee chairman, the Gaveliers began its busy program. Meeting every other Tuesday at eight o'clock, they dis- cussed such issues as safety, auditorium con- duct, and various drives for the community. A humorous skit intended to show the do's and don'ts of conducting a business meeting was the special feature of this group. S. Tanner, T. Brigson, Mr. Sodergren fadvisorl. GAVELIERS II Row 1: S.
