Without their assistance and ability to give us the proper kind of lighting, the Christmas program, Variety Show, and many assemblies would never have been possible. Mr. Kersen- brock, the advisor, thought their work was excellent- we're proud of them, too. Stagecrafters g SOUND CREW Sitting: R. Perlev, R. Billington, G. Boylan. Standing: D. Webbeking, D. Paul. Sound Crew Setting up and checking all of the microphones used in our programs was the difficult iob of these boys. Heard but not seen, they showed their fine ability for plays, skits, Variety Show, and assemblies. Because of their interest, dependability, mechanical ability, and willing- ness to work, our sound crew was a fine or- ganization. Variety Show, Homecoming Field Decorations, Commencement, Christmas Pro- gram, plays - all these were a success largely due to the hard and regular work of our Stagecrafters. With the help of the faculty advisor, Mr. Wieland, these capable boys worked together to construct all stage settings and scenery used this year. Movie Operators Audio-visual aids are being stressed in modern education-Wahawks are glad they make subiects more fun! Because these 23 boys, under the super- vision of Miss Shellard, devoted their services and library periods, we were all able to enioy the movies shown this past year. Electronics Experimenters With the addition of a few from the fairer sex, this club was a little bit more fun and interesting this year. Most of the real work was done at the students' homes where they met to discuss the mechanics of the radio and other electrical appliances. These, too, are the mighty Wahawks. They had to be -- big bundles of towels aren't exactly light! A valuable and compulsory service was carried out by these girls and boys, for the swimming and physical education classes were never without plenty of fluffy, white towels -well, clean brown towels anyway! Gone hungry, no doubt! But this was certainly not the case. De- licious meals were served every day in the pleasant atmosphere of our own big res- taurant. We could always depend on good food and lots of extra vitamins from our cafeteria. T A I T 8. I A vital part of the curriculum at West High is Trades and Industries, a two-semester training program limited to students expecting to enter a trade or skilled occupation.
