Panther Tour ’86 is the fiftieth volume of the Waterloo High School yearbook. Many changes have occurred since the first edition. The first yearbook was published in 1935. A fire destroyed the Waterloo Public School pictured above. A fire can destroy a building, but it cannot extinguish the memories of those who work, study, and play within its walls. Memories live forever. The staff of Panther Tour '86 hopes that years from now the laughter and tears you experience at Waterloo will come to life as you tour this 50th edition. 2

INTRODUCING ... Changes Many changes occurred in the 1985-86 school year — new faces, new classes, new ideas, new challenges. Waterloo School published its first newspaper The Panther Paws. Freshman and sophomore classes elected class officers for the first time. The “Blue Crue , an all male cheering squad, appeared on the scene. Homeroom periods, new classes, and a delicious salad bar added enthusiasm to the school year. New staff members and new students were welcomed warmly to Waterloo Public School.
