CLRSS HISTORY Dnne Lyehler and ack Hver were chosen a the Badqer State representatrves from Water loo They attended therr respectrve sessrons rn the summer On September 7 our class returned to Waterloo Hrgh for the last tlme At our fnst clas meetmq we elected Daxxd Zastrow as presxdent ack I-lwer xrce presldent Marx ane Noltner treasurer and Betty Beyer secretary We qaxe the hrst school party and berng a wealthy class admntted the Freshmen free The takmg of the class plctures caused a qreat deal of commotron Nothlng how ever compared to when the proofs came back We recerved the prctures 1n trme for Chrlstmas wh1ch solved mans qrft worrles After SIX weeks of study on Shakespeare s MacBeth we went to See the play presented rn the Memorlal Unlon at Madrson At the end of the semester Mrs Nlorokolf res1qned ln about the mxddle of February class play tryouts clalmed all of our rnterest and enthusx wsm The cast and staqe commlttees worked drllqently for sx weeks and put on what we and the people who saw rt bellexe to be one of the best It was very capably dlrected by Mr Law renz Frldav nlqht alter the play a party w IS qu en by Dorothy Blshofberqer for the Senror Class All who attended had a qood trme and relaxed for the hrst trme rn weeks srnce therr plax worrres were over As the school year gradually was comlnq to a close our thoughts were all ofthe many excxt mq thrnqs to happen 1n the last days of school Class day the school plcnlc alumnr banquet and most of all qraouatron nlqht made our last month rn Waterloo Hrgh School the most ex cltrng of all nd ended for us four verv memorable years AUTOGRAPHS 49 'C S I ' 5 is 5 ' - Y . . . . . .L , V . CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1945 September 5 to be exact forty green freshmen vtalked through the halls of Waterloo I-l1gh The hrst fem days held some confusmg and exasperatxng experlences for all of us but vte fmallv became 3 customed to the frequent rxngmg of the bells the general con fusion between classes and the numerous study hall regulat1ons For class offrcers me elected Dax d Gehler 'as presmdent erry Goehl as VIC presldent Theresa Bartosch as secretary and treasurer and Mlss Haag acted as our cla s advrsor As freshmen x e vtere xery actrve ID sports and ln basketball hve of our bovs made qood on the flrst team Our class also took part mn forens cs debatmg both the boys and glrls glee club band and other school aCtlV1tl69 Our school Splflt vxas of the best and thrmughout the year vxe contrrbuted much tovtard the enterta nment and enloyment of the upperclassmen by sponsormg several successful school partxes and pep m etmgs September 3 1946 we began another school year as Sophomores Our first class meetmg was held on the snrth for the purpose of electmg offvcers Eugene Batt1st was elected presldent ohn Cronln xrce presldent and Dlane Gelll r a secretary and treasurer Mrs H Schultz x as class adusor of our class unt1l she dlscont nued her vxork of teachmg Th1S pos1t1on and that of commercral teacher was then fllled by Mrs Robert Hutto sored an all school Halloween party Our B1ology class took several held trlps 1n the sp mg to collect wrld flowers under the dlrectxon of Mr Errckson We were all sorry to see h1m leavmg us at the close of the school year We began our unlor year wlth much enthusnasm for the many events to occur 1n th1s mo mentous year Our first class meetlng of the year vtas held September 5 for the purpose of elect 1ng offxcers They vtere as follows Gerald Goehl presldent and prom klng Gerald Whrte vrce pres1dent Bernadlne Balmer treasurer and Noreen Ratcllff secretary lVlrs Hutto was our class advlsor September 18 vsas the day vxe were all lookmg forward to the selectnon of class rmgs We chose three dxfferent types the metal ruby and onyx We lost one of our class mates Gertrude Wolf but rega1ned Ray Fr1tch who left us early ln our Freshman year We sponsored many partles among the rmportant ones the homecomlng dance and pre prom The homecomnng dance vtas a success desplte the fact that vxe lost the game to Sun Praxrxe by one pomt The hlghlght for 47 vsas December 2 the day our class rmgs came Strange hovx vue suddenly dex eloped the habnt of vsalkmq around holdxng our hands out ln front of us Mlss Benker came at the end of the semester as commerclal teacher and our class adxxsor to replace Mrs Hutto vtho resxgned We reallv began vtorkmg on our prom ln earnest after exams were over We selected Tvtrllght Txme as the theme and blue and sllver vtere the colors Regqne Barber provlded the mus1c lt vtas held May 14 and true to tradltlon xt ramed that nlght But nexertheless It vuas a beautxful day tand nlghtl -115 ' ' 7 ' 1 I Y 'L n r . t I 1 ' ,C ' ' V - 4 Y A, , . CLASS CALENDAR Llsten my chrldren and you shall hear A brlef account of what happened thls year lnvt as September 6th the teachers met To dlscuss the problems forthcomlng yet Wednesday t1l Friday was qu1te a to do Wlth elect1on of OEICBFS and a Prom Kmg oo On Monday the 13th the Glee Club sang And from Buenger s actxons got qu1te a bang On Wednesday Zastrovs bought uke Bop. meat Quxte a collectlon It was qu1te complete Thursday the l6th was a beautlful day Took all of our vull povt er lest from school we stray Frrdays first game made nobody hero We only tlde uneau zero to zero But later the school party proved to be qu1te a spree The reason of course the Freshmen came ree The followmg Wednesday was the first fire dr1 The commotlon nt caused could have blevx up a still The 23rd made each un1or a Wheel Wlth selectlon of rmqs xmportance they The follovunq day had a pretty sad nxght For the Football fellows lost the Middleton flght Q6 OT On the followmg Tuesday our plctures were took The flashy whlte shxrts made everyone look Oh we mustnt omxt the benxor gurls ln flashy clothes and neat combed curls Wednesday the 29th was another bxg day For Gone Wlth The Wmd was the feature that day Decoratxng for Homecommg the 30th was fun Alack and alas Frosh and W club won And after the bonflre l dndnt feel well The reason no doubt the burnt tlre smell The Homecoming game was such a blg treat The Oregon team 20 to nothmg was beat The Homecommg dance was a gala affaxr And off nn couples many dad panr On Monday the 4th we got our proofs We looked quxte natural vue re naturally goofs So vue picked out the one vue thought the best And put the retoucher to the test On October the 6th to our books we werent slaves But heard the World serles and cheered for the Bray es The game wnth Cambrldge wasnt much fun We lost It oh darn lt we lost xt by one The coach was gone the followmg week But Dledrxck took over cordlng to Prlnclpal Leak But that alnt all the week was snafu With weddlngs and funerals and rubber bands too We lost to Blanchardvllle thexr homecomxng game But we d llke to have won lt just the same To Beaver Dam Rally the F H A was 1nv1ted We all could go not ex en Freshmen shghted The game wlth Praxrle IS another sad story Our Waterloo Plrates 1n losses do glory The followmg vseek brought a hayrlde party The Cider was good so there you smarty The Underclassmen s plctures came that week We were so shocked we could hardly speak The sportsmen vt ere absent for very good rea son It belng of course the Pheasant season From Tomatoes and eggs7 Thats a pretty good guess But dont despalr its Halloween So vxash xt all off and nothmg 15 seen The lst part of Nox ember l wlll not mentnon For those dog goned tests took all our at tentlon At the game Wlth Iefferson vue dnd our best And wxth a victory feathered our nest The followmg vteek brought Marshall defeat And Hooker our star vsas really quxte neat The Semor Class movle was the followmg Tuesday The day we get money wnll be our qood newsday Thursday the llth was Armlstlce Day Pretty mce speeches I really must say The I9 was decreed another bmg day The semors saw MacBeth oh what play Deer huntmg also caused qu1te a commotxon Brmg somethxng back l second the motnon The Thanksglvmg vacatlon was really alrlght VVe all came back feellng quxte sprlght .
