The grade school studies hard preparing for the day when they will face high school. As they study, progress is being made at building new schools and bettering edu- cation for the future. On their way into the unknown future, the students of Waterloo High School show perseverance in attaining their goals. Soon, we will see important progress as we acquire a new high school building. Far into the future, we see those who have attended and graduated from this school. We hope that this future will be as progressive as our days at Waterloo High School. The coming years may hold de- spair or sadness, but each of us carry with us many mem- ories and much happiness of these days. DEDICATION We, the Senior Class of Waterloo High School, wish to dedicate the 1966 Rosebud to Mr. James B. Miller. Mr. Miller joined the Waterloo Staff in the 1961-1962 school year as a principal and guidance counselor. During the four short years he was with us, he gained the respect and confidence of all who know him. Mr. Miller gave us much of his time and many wonderful memories. As a companion and friend of all, we shall never forget him. Then came the time consuming jobs of layout, typing, and proof-reading. Photography and write-ups took much extra time, also. These jobs plus many other things combine to make our yearbook a success. The staff has met their deadlines with hard work striving for their goal. This would not have been possible without the help of many people. The Staff wishes to express their sincere thanks to everyone, who has made this possible. ONIONS IN THE STEW was a de- lightful comedy about a family who moved to an island for the summer to get away from all of their problems and the confusion of the city. Instead of finding peace and quiet, they found life on the island quite the opposite. A crew of thirty, under the direction of Mr. Stackhouse, helped to produce the play. The cast and crew put in many hours of hard word and practice. Its success was well deserved. Diann was one of six contestants who participated in this year's con- test vying to win the title of Miss DeKalb County of 1965. After spending the earlier part of the evening at a dinner with the judges, each girl was individually judged on her personality traits. They were then judged in their evening gowns for their poise. Next they were judged on their talent. Diann did an excellent job with her rendition of two songs from MY FAIR LADY. The highlight of the evening came with the crowning of the queen. Diann was chosen as first runner up. We wish to congratulate Diann for winning this honor and to express our sincere thanks to her for a marvelous job. es ae . ts x Ry , J RE Ys . id g a “ee pe PP ROW 1: Left to Right; Jo Starkey, Elaine Loos, Harriet Keller, Debbie Lumpkins, Jo Voss.
