ACHIEVEMENT Achievement is that for which we are constantly striving, and once obtained, is the best reward for our endeavors. Throughout our years at Waterloo our goal has been to achieve only the best. Every year we have gained more knowledge and experience which have helped us to come a little closer to that goal. In our high school years we have worked diligently and have been rewarded for our efforts with our class sweaters and rings, and our trip to Washington and New York. Then came graduation day. As each one of us stepped forward to receive his diploma, he knew that he had achieved one of the most valuable rewards of a lifetime. Yet it is not the diploma or the class ring and sweater that is the greatest reward for our efforts. These are only symbols for the abstract qualities that have enriched our lives and will continue to do so for as long as we live. The education that we have re- ceived has unlocked for us the door to the great achievements of mankind The door to democracy was also unlocked for us by our education. Of the important by-products of our education, the friendships we have made mean the most to us. We shall always cherish our friendships with our fellow students and carry with us fond memories of our school years at Waterloo. DEDICATION In 1950 Mrs. Robert Love joined the teach- ing staff of Waterloo High School. Since then she has gained the respect and confidence of all . who know her. She is a friend, companion, and good sport as well as an excellent teacher. The Senior Class of 1960 has a deep respect and admiration for Mrs. Love. She has given much of her time and talent in helping us to produce our very successful Junior and Senior class plays. As our class sponsor she guided us through a successful senior year and made it a year we will long remember. For all of these and many other memorable experiences we have shared, we, the Senior Class, as a small token of our appreciation and thanks, do hereby dedicate the 1960 Rosebud to our beloved Mrs. Love.
