Dedication We, the Seniors of '57, dedicate this ROSE- BUD to the memory of the late town marshal, Willard Knott, who was known by all as one who rendered his services for the youth of the co mmunity. Theme In the ROSEBUD OF 1957 we hope we succeed in showing our readers that to us our high school days have meant more than just hard work. We planned this year's book to give you, the reader, a complete idea of the joys and difficulties we have experienced. | At the same time we wish to fold into this book reminders that will bring memories to each of us of our days at Waterloo High School. We seniors chose as our theme--hands. An inspiring message can be found in hands. The hands of the mother tell a story of love for her child; the hands of the teacher tell a story of patience and under- standing. Although their hands are very busy, we hope our parents and teachers find pleasures in their toiling hands. We, too, through twelve years of school have witnessed the fruits of toiling hands. Realizing the truth in the sayings many hands make light work and “hand and mind can use the tools, we have ventured forth this year to put forth a ROSEBUD of which we may be proud.
