SOMA MOURNS (Cah 5Ss a ASU OUST Ten years ago, in nineteen hundred thirty-two and thirty-three, we got our first experience of school life. We had an enrollment of thirty- seven, being taught by Miss Callahan. In nineteen hundred thirty-three we were promoted into Miss Gertrude Newcomer's class. In the third grade we were taught by Miss Hamman. After this year we were ready for the fourth grade taught by Miss Dirrim. Nineteen hundred thirty-six found us in the fifth grade taught by Miss Mary Bontiglio. In the next year we were taught by Mr. Bruce Gurtner, getting us ready for the seventh grade in which we had an enrollment of twenty-seven. Under the guidance of Mr. Bowers, Mr. Dorton, Mr. McClain, Miss Parks and Miss Wilson we graduated from the eighth grade into our Freshman year in high school. We had an enrollment of forty-seven in the Freshman year due to those who joined us from Corunna. In high school we were taught by Mr. Dorton, Mr. McClain, Miss Bachtel, Miss Parks, Miss Snyder, Miss Deer and Miss Wilson. And from there went to the Sophomore class and now have an enrollment of forty. —Eugene Woolever Page 27
